(West) Alabama Tornadoes April 27, 2011

Words can not even begin to describe what our great state has been through, not only this week but the past two weeks. I wrote a previous post about the tornado that hit, in Geiger, just 25 minutes from my house here . Little did I know a few short weeks later and an EF5 tornado would tear through Tuscaloosa, AL (only an hour from my home). Below are a combination of pictures form Geiger and Aliceville Alabama. These do not even begin to capture the damage and destruction these two areas have been through.

181 Market Fairhope, AL

Oh. My. GOODNESS! If you've never heard of this place you are missing out. This weekend my mother and I traveled to Fairhope, AL to spend some time with my brother Jordy and his wife Niki. While we were there they introduced us to 181 market. We were able to find some really cool stuff at a very reasonable price. I can't wait to go back. That is now that my mom & brother taught me all the bargaining tricks. Hoping to use the props in the second to last picture in my next couple of shoots. Oh, and the very last picture was on the way down to Fairhope. Gorgeous, right?

P.S. I'm dying to have the motorized bike.

STOP

And smell the roses... sometimes I really believe that's what it is all about. I know we are all busy with the everyday hustle and bustle of life but have you ever thought about what you're passing up? For those of you who do not know I am wrapping up my Master's degree in Elementary Education while teaching full time and yes it's as exhausting as it sounds. The past couple of weeks I have found made the time to savor the moments and here are some pictures.... It really is true, that saying, a picture's worth a thousand words! Savor your moments, they really do FLY by.

Kinsley & Kyler Livingston, AL UWA Campus

So exciting....My first guinea pigs clients. Meet Kinsley(2 weeks away from 3yrs old) and Kyler (1yr old), my precious niece and nephew! Here are a couple pictures from our photo shoot yesterday. We couldn't have asked for a more perfect day, it was absolutely beautiful. Special thanks to my "assistant" Becky (their mom/my SIL) for accompanying me :)

About Me

Just so you know a little bit about me..
I am twenty three years old, a preschool teacher, a sister of two older brothers, the daughter of the two best parents anyone could ask for, and most importantly a christian passing through this life trying to find my purpose in this crazy busy world we live in. I am convinced that everyone should follow their dreams, take chances, and pray EVERYDAY. I don't know WHAT tomorrow holds but I know WHO holds tomorrow and sometimes that's all that matters.

My hope is to capture the images of everyday life and turn them into timeless elegance. I would classify my style as shabby, vintage, southern, bright, fun, bold... just to name a few ;)

Putting My Foot Down

... I guess that's what I am doing!?! Finally putting my foot down and branching out for a change. I've always loved photography and for once in my life instead of saying it is something I want to do, I'm actually doing it. Who knows what will happen, this little adventure could be the jumpstart of making millions ; )  or it could do absolutely nothing at all and sit her in cyberspace to rot. Regardless, I'm taking a chance. If you are interested please feel free to contact me through this blog or through my email haydenk8@gmail.com Enjoy!
